Cancer related lymphoedema

This course is intended to be an overview of lymphoedema secondary to cancer and it’s treatments. It will help you define, identify, and provide basic management to those people at risk of developing/living with lymphoedema secondary to cancer and/or it’s treatment. Once completed it is suggested that attendees may wish to add on a bolt on course for their specific cancer site or area(s) of interest

Who should attend

This course is suitable for any health care professional – Medical, Nursing, Allied Health Care Professionals (including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, radiographers, Operating Department Practitioners, mammographers, dieticians, Speech and Language therapists) Pharmacists and support staff

  1. To understand the difference between acute oedema, transient oedema, chronic oedema and cancer related lymphoedema
  2. To recognise those individuals at risk and be able to advise accordingly
