Why Footwear Matters for People with Lymphoedema & Leg Ulcers

People living with lymphoedema and leg ulceration or people in long term leg and foot compression bandaging often struggle to find adequately fitting footwear. Often, these patients do not have access to footwear services, and many people report having little or no access to podiatry support. Clinicians who manage these patients frequently experience footwear issues but feel unsure on what to advise.

This course is designed to give practical, easy‑to‑use footwear advice for any nurse, allied health professional or clinician who manages these patients. You’ll learn how to spot common footwear issues, offer simple solutions and confidently signpost patients towards safer, more supportive footwear options as part of your holistic management

By the end of the course, you’ll be equipped to support every step your patients take with practical footwear advice that enhances the impact of your wider lower‑limb care.
